The Foundation of Stars, formerly known as the Foundation for Research into Children’s Diseases, is recognized as the most important source of non-governmental funding for pediatric research in Quebec. Since its first Telethon in 1977, the Foundation has distributed close to $60 million to four state-of-the-art pediatric research centres at the following hospitals: the Montreal Children’s Hospital, the "CHU Sainte-Justine", the "Centre hospitalier universitaire de Quebec" and the "Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke".
